Is Massachusetts Legalizing Psychedelics?

The Controversy, Campaigns, and Future of Psychedelic Access

This week, we’re diving into the latest developments in the ever-expanding psychedelic landscape, starting with the hot topic of Question 4 on the Massachusetts ballot

Psychedelics are currently taking center stage as voters decide whether to make the Bay State the third in the nation—following Oregon and Colorado—to legalize access to psychedelics.

Psychedelic advocates, skeptics and industry stakeholders are busy campaigning in support of - and as with any ballot measure, in opposition of - the last opportunity for a major psychedelic policy win in 2024.

Psychedelics are currently taking center stage on the Massachusetts voting ballot.

Question 4 outlines a regulatory framework for legalizing psychedelics, potentially making Massachusetts a pioneer in this movement.

While many psychedelic advocates and organizations are in favor, public opposition has recently emerged from figures such as psychiatrist Nassir Ghaemi, concerned about the unsupervised use of psychedelics, and the grassroots organization Baystaters, which opposes perceived corporate involvement. Expect this to heat up as we approach the vote on November 5th.
